Target Appointed Official Distributor of STRONG Networking

Target Components has been appointed official distributor of networking brand, STRONG.

The employee-owned distributor now has access to STRONG’s entire portfolio of home networking routers, switches, Mesh WiFi and powerline products, featuring up to 4 years’ warranty across the range.

Part of the Skyworth Group, which established itself as a consumer electronics manufacturer in Europe in 1986, STRONG’s legacy comes from over 35 years producing TV and satellite set-top boxes for the largest analogue and digital content providers in the World. It is through their experience in connectivity that STRONG launched its home networking range, which now operates in 45 countries.

Dan Hirst, Target’s newly-appointed Networking Category Manager, explained how the new agreement benefits the distributor’s customers, “We’ve seen the whole networking category growing and growing over recent years, largely thanks to the demand for robust and reliable connections wherever people are, be it at home, work or out-and-about. Whereas our more enterprise networking brands like Ubiquiti and TP-Link’s Omada range make up the backbone of networks, our customers also need the more consumer-focussed devices like homeplugs and Mesh WiFi day-in-day-out.”

“STRONG’s 4G routers also bridge the gap between enterprise and home networking as they’re often used as failover connection devices by small businesses and homes with less reliable ISP connections in rural and coastal areas, as well as features in holiday homes and caravan parks. And their portable 4G ‘MiFi’ devices are a must for those travelling or on holiday – the whole family can connect up to 10 devices at a time.”

“We’re really impressed how STRONG’s home networking range delivers really excellent performance and features in extremely well-made devices – there’s certainly a better-than-you’d-expect-for-that-price feel to them, and the retail packaging is some of the best we’ve seen, consistent across the different ranges. Both our retail and online customers are going to love them!”

One addition to the STRONG range, in particular, hails back to the company’s roots in satellite and TV receivers, “STRONG’s Leap S3 is one of the only Google-certified, full-Android TV devices on the market, and it’s really a continuation of the devices they’ve produced for satellite and TV providers over the last three decades”, commented Hirst. “Unlike other devices like Smart TVs with third-party app stores and scaled-down versions of Android that only allow access to some of the streaming apps available, the Leap S3 acts just like your phone, with full access to the official Google Play store. And it’s considerably cheaper than a Smart TV!”

Imran Khan, STRONG’s Regional Director, commented on Target’s appointment, “STRONG has been extremely impressed with Target’s commitment to its broad range of customers, something that STRONG identifies with completely. We have a fantastic range of home networking products and we believe Target has both the tenacity and customer base to increase our market share in the UK.”

“Whilst we believe STRONG is an excellent addition to Target’s growing networking portfolio, augmenting its home networking offering, we’re also convinced that its massive network of independent retailers, network specialists and online resellers, combined with a knowledgeable and well-trained sales team, will provide STRONG with a solid, national customer base for years to come. And we’ll be there to facilitate that growth however we can.”

STRONG’s home networking range is available at Target Components now.
