-Press Release- As the new year approaches, a major milestone is on the horizon: Spire – components distributor – will officially become part of Westcoast on 1st January 2026. To explore what this means for customers, we spoke with Phil Bell, Chief Revenue Officer at Westcoast, and Mike Botto, Managing Director at Spire.

“This merger is about synergy,” says Phil. “Spire’s specialist expertise and customer-first approach align perfectly with Westcoast’s scale and infrastructure. Together, we’re creating a stronger offering for our partners.” Mike adds, “Spire has always focused on proactive, specialist service. By joining Westcoast, we’re amplifying that, giving our customers access to a broader portfolio, enhanced logistics, and more support, while keeping the same trusted team.”
From January, customers will benefit from Westcoast’s award-winning operations, including a 99.82% fulfilment rate. Mike explains: “We’re expanding from 40,000 to 750,000 square feet of warehousing -that’s nearly 19 times more space - unlocking faster fulfilment, greater stock availability, and enhanced logistics for our customers. But the core relationships remain unchanged.” “Our partners will still work with the same account managers and support team,” Mike reassures. “It’s the same great service, just with much more behind it.”
Spire’s fantastic component portfolio and deep technical expertise will now be available to all Westcoast customers, creating a truly comprehensive offering for partners. From specialist components to end-to-end solutions, this merger brings together the best of both worlds.
Spire’s existing services aren’t going anywhere - in fact, they’re being enhanced. Customers will gain access to new tools, faster delivery, and broader vendor options. Westcoast Rewards is another exciting benefit. Customers earn points for qualifying purchases, to redeem against prizes of their choice.
Phil also highlights Westcoast’s sustainability journey: “We’re helping partners make greener choices. From eco-packaging to community initiatives, sustainability is central to our strategy.”
Reflecting on the merger, Phil said: “This is a step forward. Partners are gaining more support, more services, and more opportunities without losing the trusted relationships they’ve built with Spire.”
Mike concludes: “We’re genuinely excited about what this means for our customers. Joining forces with Westcoast is about creating more value, more choice, and more opportunities for our partners.”
