Foxway Circular UK Ltd receives King’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation for SMART

Enabling refurbishers to scale compliant operations, build trust, and meet growing demand for circular tech

London, UK – 6 May 2026 – Foxway Circular UK Ltd has been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category for the development of SMART, its cloud-based platform enabling secure and compliant Microsoft Windows licensing for refurbished tech devices.

Announced today (Wednesday 6 May), Foxway Circular UK Ltd is one of only 185 organisations nationally to receive the UK’s most prestigious business award.

SMART addresses a core challenge in the circular IT market: delivering refurbished devices that meet modern expectations for compliance, security and consistency at scale. By automating Windows licence injection and device preparation, the platform removes the need for complex infrastructure while enabling refurbishers to meet Microsoft Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) standards.

Since launching in 2022, SMART has grown to support over 800 refurbishers across 50+ countries - from independent operators to global ITAD providers - helping reduce compliance risk, improve efficiency and build customer trust.

The innovation is particularly relevant in today’s Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) ecosystem, where access to legitimate digital licensing is critical to compliant refurbishment operations.

Martin Series, Senior Director, Global Solutions at Foxway Circular UK Ltd, said:

“This is a significant milestone for Foxway Circular UK Ltd and the teams behind SMART.

SMART was designed to remove complexity and enable refurbishers to operate with confidence, compliance and scale. As demand for refurbished technology grows, this kind of infrastructure is essential to building trust and unlocking the full potential of the circular IT market.”

The award highlights Foxway’s role in enabling a more scalable and trusted circular economy - extending device lifecycles, reducing e-waste and supporting organisations to meet sustainability and regulatory goals.

Ben Daniels, Head of Software & Licensing Solutions (SMART) said: "This award means a lot, not just to us here at Foxway, but to all the refurbishers we work with every day. SMART was built around the challenges they face, so to see that recognised at this level feels like a win for the whole refurbishment community."
