Introduction :

In businesses, more often than not,  you have limited space at your workstation.  Your desk is often taken up by your computer, keyboard, and mouse.  Then, we have all of these wires going everywhere.  What if we could make the same amount of space work for you and you would not have to sacrifice any of those things?  I am going to show you how to have a more tidy, efficient and elegant work-space.  Today we will look at what I call the answer to the office worker's prayers.

We are looking at the Cherry DW 9000 Slim Rechargeable Wireless Desktop.  You don't want to miss this.  This review is just a bit different from the others you have seen.  I don't want to give you any spoilers, so, let's crack on!

  • Lithium batteries in the mouse and keyboard can be recharged via micro USB.

  • Status LEDs show low residual battery charge, charge status, and mouse resolution.

  • Precise sensor with three level adjustable resolution up to 1600 DPI.

Manufacturer statement:

The CHERRY DW 9000 SLIM desktop set stands out due to its innovative functions, excellent workmanship and trendy, flat design.

The mouse and keyboard can be connected using the 2.4 GHz wireless USB receiver included with the set, or by Bluetooth®. You can switch connection types in an instant using a switch on the mouse or keyboard. This allows e.g. a laptop to be operated using Bluetooth®, as well as allowing a PC to be operated using the same desktop by means of a wireless connection with AES encryption. The data are transferred using an AES-128 encryption in both cases.

The CHERRY DW 9000 SLIM set features rechargeable lithium batteries that allow you to work throughout the week. You can then conveniently charge the mouse and keyboard using the micro USB cable included with the set, even while you are working. To ensure that the rechargeable batteries are still charged after a holiday, use a switch to turn off the keyboard and mouse altogether.

The keyboard contains an integrated metal plate, lending it an optimal sturdiness and stability. Should you prefer a steeper angle while typing, you can adjust the keyboard using the 4 rubber feet included with the set. High stability is ensured by the metal plate, which prevents bending and bounding when typing.

The use of high-quality scissor mechanisms with a low key stroke ensures an ideal typing experience. Status LEDs integrated directly in each key provide information on whether the CAPS LOCK, SCROLL and NUM keys are activated. In addition, these keys flash to warn that the battery charging status is low.

The 6 additional keys have proved to be extremely convenient and practical: “Windows lock”, “Open browser”, “Quieter”, “Louder”, “Mute” and “Open calculator”.

The mouse, which harmonizes with the keyboard perfectly, also boasts a wide range of features. It fits ideally in the user’s hand thanks to its rubber-coated side parts and a compact design. The resolution can be set in three stages at the touch of a button: 600, 1000, 1600 dpi. A two-color status LED provides the user with information on the battery status, the charging status, the selected resolution or the connection status at all times. An extra-durable mouse wheel with optical scanning and a magnetic storage feature for the USB receiver are further details that ensure nothing is left to be desired. The mouse is equally suitable for mobile and stationary applications.

Packaging:

The DW 9000 Slim is in a mostly white box with a high definition picture of the product on the front.  The Cherry logo is on the side.  If I were Cherry it would be on the front with the keyboard.  I always say if you have a product be proud and put your name on the front for everyone to see it!  The packaging reminds me of an OEM product in a way.  However, Cherry will not be putting these in retail stores so I can see where they were coming from with not putting art etc on the box, but I stand behind my statement on logo placement.

Unboxing:
Inside you will find the keyboard wrapped nicely to prevent damage in transit.  The mouse comes in a black velvet bag.  I have to admit, this is very classy.  It is also environmentally friendly.  The little bag can be used for something so that is less for the bin.  Also you have the USB cable for recharging , a pocket of feet for the keyboard should you need them *this is a low profile keyboard*, an FAQ sheet and instruction manual.
Installation:
This combo is very easy to install.  Simply remove the USB connector from the bottom of the mouse.  Plug in the connector to a free USB port *I would recommend one on the front so as to avoid any interference if possible*.  Press the sync button on the keyboard.  To charge, plug the USB cable into the keyboard and a free port on your PC.

Testing:

In testing, try as I may to bend it, I could not.  It is made of solid metal and not only does that make it durable but it looks absolutely stunning when it peeps through the keys.  Another test we did was the general usage test.  I used it in daily work.  Being I really type hard it would need to be strong to survive.  It was not only strong but it was comfortable to use.  The keypad, for those of you who know how to use those properly is very comfortable and you don't need to keep checking to see if your fingers are in the right place, you can feel this quite well.  It types quietly, and that's great for an office setting where you don't want to disturb people with the clickety click click of keys all day long.

Conclusion:

If you want a wireless keyboard and mouse combo that is built to last and exude elegance, this is your perfect product. The Cherry DW 9000 Slim was built to not only meet your needs but to make your work experience a little better all the way round.  It meets and exceeds the standards for a product of its calibre.  If you want elegance, comfort, value for money, and something that will last, look no further.  I highly recommend this product.
